1. The Day I Learned to Slow Down...

I used to measure my days by productivity—how much I checked off my to-do list, how many emails I sent, how clean the house was.

Then I had a baby.

One afternoon, I was bouncing my daughter on my hip, answering texts with one hand, stirring a pot with the other, and mentally planning the rest of my day. I was overwhelmed, overstimulated, and on the verge of tears.

And then, I looked down at her.

She wasn’t in a rush. She wasn’t worried about what came next. She was simply staring at me, her tiny fingers wrapped around mine, completely content just being.

That moment stopped me in my tracks.

She didn’t care if the house was a mess. She didn’t care about my to-do list. She just wanted me to slow down and see her.

So, I did. I turned off my phone. I sank onto the couch. I traced her tiny fingers, kissed her soft cheeks, and just… existed with her.

And you know what? The world didn’t fall apart. The laundry could wait. The emails weren’t urgent.

That day, I learned one of the greatest lessons of parenthood: Babies don’t keep. The mess, the to-do lists, the chaos—it will always be there. But these fleeting moments? They won’t.

So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, take a breath. Slow down. Let the dishes sit. And just be with your baby.
